Committee Endorses Strong Slate of Candidates
At it's April 15th meeting, the Clifton Park Republican Committee once again endorsed a strong slate of incumbent elected officials, along with one well qualified new candidate, to run in this year's local races in November. Chairman Bob Wilcox announced the list of candidates as follows:
Phil Barrett: Town/County Supervisor
Anita Daly: County Supervisor
Lynda Walowit: Town Board
Jim Romano: Town Board
Pat O'Donnell: Town Clerk
Rick Kukuk: Highway Superintendent
Jim Hughes: Town Justice
This group of experienced officials is responsible for many of the innovative policies and actions that have garnered our town significant praise and awards from many good government groups around the state. They know what our residents want and what their concerns are, and their responsiveness has been a hallmark of their tenures in office. In short, these officials have a track record that is among the best of any current group of elected officials across upstate New York, and the Committee is proud to endorse them once more.
Jim Romano is the only new candidate on the slate, but he is far from unknown in our community. Jim has been very involved in town government for many years, serving in leadership positions on both the Open Space Committee and Planning Board. He is well qualified for the Town Board, and we are glad he has decided to continue his service to our citizens in an elected capacity.
Overall, this team is strong, experienced, and very succesful, and we look forward to their continuing success as they lead our town into the next decade.
