Town Board Approves Additional Paving Funds
The Clifton Park Town Board recently approved a $470,000 supplemental appropriation to the Highway Department to increase the number of roads and streets to be paved in 2009.

Highway Superintendent Rick Kukuk says this money, which represents a 58% increase over the original amount budgeted for paving, will allow his crews to resurface and improve an additional 5 miles of town roads.  "This additional funding will really make an impact, and significantly increases the amount of road improvements we will be able to complete before the coming winter.  It's definitely positive news." says Kukuk.

Town Supervisor Phil Barrett was equally pleased with the additional funding.  "Any time we can improve more of our town's road infrastructure, that's always a good thing.  Our strong financial position is allowing us to make this additional investment, and we feel it is money well spent."

Barrett said that the bulk of the additional funding will be coming from the town's surplus funds.  For more information, contact the Highway Superintendent's office or Supervisor's office at Town Hall.
